Motor Mechanic

Salary range: £37,458.00 - £40,610.00 Per Annum DOE, Plus Desirable Benefits

This is a full-time, temporary 6-month contract.

Based at Port Lympne Hotel & Reserve

Port Lympne Hotel & Reserve are looking for an experienced Motor Mechanic to join our team on a temporary basis, who will provide maintenance and servicing for a variety of company vehicles. The role will see you working in picturesque, historic surroundings, within a friendly, vibrant team.

As a Motor Mechanic, you will carry out emergency repairs and general maintenance work on a wide range of vehicles across both parks, including small commercial vehicles, 4x4 SUVs, agricultural tractors and machines, large off-road goods vehicles, plant, trailers, minibuses, and golf buggies.

Who we are looking for:

A qualified motor mechanic or vehicle technician with relevant certificates to demonstrate professional competency such as relevant diplomas or City and Guilds certificates. You will have evidence of continuous professional development in motor vehicle repairs, with a minimum of 3 years’ experience. You will have the capability to carry out scheduled inspections and maintenance of vehicles, as well as pre-MOT checks. You must have a flexible attitude to work, with the ability to work with minimum supervision. It is essential for the successful candidate to hold a full valid driving licence including groups B, BE, B1 as a minimum. Experience driving commercial and/or agricultural vehicles would be advantageous.

Contract details:

This is a temporary 6-month contract, which may be extended dependant on business needs. This position is full time working 40 hours per week, five days out of seven, including weekend cover which will be required on a rota basis – the salary advertised is inclusive of the weekend rate. Overtime is also available. Working hours are 07:30 - 16:00, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break. This position is based at Port Lympne Hotel & Reserve, although the successful candidates might be required to work across both sites on the occasion. All applicants must have the right to work in the UK. A reliable mode of transport is recommended due to our remote location.
