Beaumond House Hospice Care is a registered charity. We provide four In-patient beds, Day Therapy, and Hospice at Home Care. Hospice at Home supports people with palliative and end of life care needs, often in the last weeks and months of life. Our nurses and health care assistants provide assessment, personal care, emotional support, advice, and advance care planning in the person’s preferred place of care.

Role Purpose
The purpose of the role is to assist with the development of our online sales presence using appropriate selling platforms for furniture, collectables, clothing and other items. This is a developing aspect of our Retail department, and the role will require knowledge of building and growing our online offering. We are particularly looking to grow clothing and fashion accessory sales so a good working knowledge of these areas is vital to the role. Working alongside our current online sales manager you will work together to meet a target number of listings per week, ensure all communications are dealt with quickly and professionally and that all sold items are dispatched efficiently and well packaged to maintain our 100% positive feedback.
You will also be required to assist with the retail aspect of the warehouse which will include sales, providing excellent customer services and assisting with managing incoming donations from the general public.This will be done in a manner which reflects the ethos of Beaumond House Hospice Care and always promotes good public relations for the Hospice.
To assist and support the Online Sales Manager and Shop Manager with:
Business Management
- To assist in running the online sales department in a profitable and business-like manner
- To maximize sales of donated goods on appropriate selling platforms
- To increase our online sales presence on a variety of platforms
- Identify appropriate items from our shops to list online and maximize each item’s potential income
- To ensure stock is appropriate to the business i.e. meets Health and Safety requirements and is priced accordingly
- To maintain a rigorous process of stock rotation and storage and maintain appropriate records of stock
- Create a fluid storage plan for listed items
- To assist with the sales of stock within the retail area of the warehouse
- Assisting the manager to ensure the online stock storage area, retail space and general warehouse areas are kept clean and tidy
Staffing
- To assist with training and supporting volunteers in their roles
- To work as an integral part of the Warehouse team
Administration
- To keep all paperwork and online records as required
- To assist the Online Sales Manager collate weekly and monthly reports for dissemination to the Retail Area Manager and Director of Finance & Operations.
- To ensure Retail Gift Aid is administered and promoted effectively.
Legal Compliance & Security
- Assist with making sure that shop premises comply with Health and Safety legislation for staff and customers
- To ensure that cash and valuable items are kept secure
General Duties
- Work collaboratively and cooperatively with Beaumond House colleagues
- Respect confidentiality applying to all areas of Beaumond House
- Work to the requirements of the Health and Safety at Work Act, and Trading Standards Authority
- Work within Beaumond House policies and procedures
- Participate in and contribute to team meetings
- Always behave in a professional manner, reflecting and maintaining Beaumond House values
- Promote fundraising activities, including events and raffles
- Be flexible within the broad remit of the post
Skills, Experience and Attributes Required
- Proven online listing and selling experience, either charity or mainstream
- Experience of using a variety of selling platforms appropriate to items sold
- Skills and experience associated with online selling - taking clear photos, providing accurate descriptions, excellent communications with customers, secure packaging and prompt postage
- A team player with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- The ability to forge and maintain strong working relationships.
- The ability to support, enable and engage with a team of volunteers
- A proven track record of delivering outstanding customer services and communications
- A creative and positive attitude with the ability to turn challenges into opportunities.
- A willingness to trial new ideas and initiatives
- Strong attention to detail, planning and organisational skills.
- A good understanding of pricing and marketing with the ability to make sound commercial decisions
- A willingness to work flexibly.
