The Hotel

The Grange Hotel is an elegant four-star Victorian hotel overlooking Morecambe Bay, on the edge of the Lake District National Park.

Food and drink are a key part of the hotel experience, covering breakfast, Carriages Restaurant, the Lounge Bar, afternoon tea, weddings and private events.

The Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced, hands-on Food & Beverage Manager to lead the entire Food and Beverage operation.

You will have responsibility for the commercial and operational performance of the department, including revenue, payroll, gross profit, stock control and overall profitability.

This is a role for someone who is comfortable managing the numbers while remaining highly visible with guests and the team.

What You'll Be Doing

Leading the day-to-day operation of all F&B outlets, including breakfast, restaurant, bar, afternoon tea, weddings, and events.
Taking responsibility for F&B revenue, profitability, payroll, GP, and departmental costs.
Recruiting, training, managing, and developing the F&B team.
Managing rotas in line with forecast business levels and labour budgets.
Working closely with the Head Chef on menus, seasonal offers and the overall guest experience.
Developing the wine, cocktail and wider drinks offering.
Working with the Wedding & Events Manager and Head Chef to successfully deliver weddings and events.
Managing purchasing, stocktakes, beverage GP, wastage, and stock variances.
Driving revenue through upselling, promotions, menu development, and events.
Maintaining high standards of service and being a visible presence on the floor.
Ensuring compliance with food safety, allergens, licensing, health & safety and company procedures.

What You'll Bring

Previous experience as an F&B Manager, Restaurant Manager or similar senior hospitality role.
Strong commercial awareness with experience managing budgets, payroll, and profitability.
Experience leading, training, and developing an F&B team.
Good knowledge of food, wine, cocktails, and bar operations.
Experience delivering weddings and events.
Strong communication and organisational skills.
A hands-on, guest-focused approach to hospitality.
