We are seeking a dedicated Bakery Assistant to join our vibrant bakery team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food production and baking, with a keen eye for food safety and quality. This role offers an exciting opportunity to develop culinary skills within a busy bakery environment, contributing to the creation of delicious baked goods for our valued customers. The Bakery Assistant will support daily operations, ensuring that all products meet high standards of freshness and presentation.

Duties

Assist in preparing and baking a variety of baked goods, including bread, pastries, and cakes
Support food preparation activities, ensuring ingredients are measured and mixed accurately
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the bakery workspace in accordance with food safety regulations
Operate bakery equipment safely and efficiently, including mixers, ovens, and proofing cabinets
Assist with packaging finished products for sale or delivery
Follow recipes and production schedules to ensure timely completion of orders
Monitor stock levels of ingredients and supplies, notifying management when replenishment is needed
Uphold high standards of hygiene and safety throughout all tasks

Qualifications

Previous experience in food production or kitchen environments is desirable
Knowledge of food safety standards and practices within a bakery or restaurant setting
Basic understanding of culinary techniques, particularly baking and food preparation
Experience with food handling equipment such as mixers and ovens is advantageous
Strong organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
A keen eye for detail to ensure consistent quality of baked goods
Ability to work well within a team and follow instructions accurately
