Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Dispenser (NVQ 2 level qualification - Dispensary Assistant or equivalent) to join our team. Required to work a minimum of 24 hours per week (Ideal days would be Monday: 9-6pm, Tuesday: 9-6pm and Friday: 9-6pm). In this role, you will be responsible for assisting in the preparation and dispensing of medications, ensuring that patients receive the correct prescriptions in a timely manner. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in pharmacy operations and a commitment to providing excellent patient care. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about healthcare to develop their skills within a supportive team environment. Candidates should be committed to maintaining high standards of accuracy, confidentiality, and patient service.

Duties

Accurately prepare and dispense medications as per prescriptions, ensuring compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.
Assist pharmacists in medication administration and provide information to patients regarding their prescriptions.
Maintain accurate records of medication dispensation and inventory management.
Provide exceptional patient care by answering queries and addressing concerns regarding medications.
Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Keep the pharmacy area clean, organised, and compliant with health and safety regulations.

Requirements

Previous experience as a pharmacy dispenser is highly desirable (NVQ 2 level qualification - Dispensary Assistant or equivalent). Training will be provided on how to use our PMR systems.
Demonstrated knowledge of medication administration procedures.
Strong commitment to patient care and ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.
Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy.
