Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter/Kitchen Assistant to support our culinary team in maintaining a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth operation of food preparation and service, contributing to a high standard of hospitality. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, reliable, and eager to develop their skills within a dynamic hospitality setting.

Duties

Wash, peel, and prepare ingredients for cooking and serving
Assist with basic food preparation tasks under supervision
Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen areas, including work surfaces, utensils, and equipment
Ensure proper storage of ingredients and supplies in accordance with health and safety standards
Support chefs and kitchen staff during busy service periods
Dispose of waste responsibly and ensure recycling procedures are followed
Restock supplies as needed to ensure smooth kitchen operations
Follow health and safety regulations diligently to maintain a safe working environment

Qualifications

Previous experience in food preparation, cooking, or hospitality is desirable but not essential; training will be provided
Knowledge of kitchen hygiene standards and safety procedures
Experience working in restaurants, hotels, or catering environments is advantageous
Strong organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
Good communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
