Full job description

Newmarket Hospital is looking to recruit a General Porter to work 30 hours per week.

At Newmarket Hospital, Porters are essential members of staff.

Moving patients and equipment is just part of our job.

We liaise with other teams, helping with whatever way possible with the aim to provide the best possible service to the patient.

The satisfaction of supporting someone visiting the hospital and the friendly working environment makes this an appealing opportunity.

General Porters are required to assist with day-to-day duties that are necessary for the smooth running of the Department. These duties include but are not limited to:

Transportation of patients to and from wards and departments
Delivery and collection of essential items within the hospital grounds, which will require interpersonal skills and the ability to carry out manual handling tasks.
Working with a variety of people including staff at all levels, patients and visitors.

Applicants must have good customer service and communication skills coupled with a professional appearance which is appropriate to a front of house role.
