Job Overview

At the beautifully renovated Pinewood we are seeking a dynamic and passionate Sous Chef to join our small but talented kitchen team. As a key leadership figure, you will play an essential role in ensuring the delivery of exceptional food quality and service. Your energetic approach and culinary expertise will inspire the team, elevate our menu offerings, and create memorable dining experiences for our guests. This role offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your skills in food preparation, team management, and kitchen operations within a highly professional hospitality environment.

Responsibilities

Assist the Head Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations, ensuring smooth workflow and high standards of food quality.
Supervise and motivate kitchen staff, fostering a positive team environment focused on collaboration and excellence.
Prepare and cook a variety of dishes with precision, creativity, and attention to detail, maintaining consistency across all menu items.
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations, sanitation standards, and proper handling of ingredients at all times.
Manage food production processes, including inventory control, ordering supplies, and minimizing waste to optimize efficiency.
Support training initiatives for new team members on food preparation techniques, safety protocols, and service standards.
Contribute to menu development by suggesting innovative dishes that align with current culinary trends and guest preferences.

Experience

Proven supervising experience in a high end restaurant or hospitality setting. (Rosette experience preferable but not essential)
Extensive kitchen experience with a strong background in food preparation and modern cooking techniques.
Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage a small team effectively.
Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices for maintaining a clean, safe kitchen environment.
Sound understanding of all kitchen legislation & regulations including HACCAP & COSHH
Strong understanding of culinary arts combined with excellent communication skills
A passion for hospitality that drives exceptional guest experiences through quality cuisine and attentive service.

Pay: £30,000.00-£36,000.00 per year
