Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Care Home Cleaner to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment within our care facility. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring high standards of hygiene and cleanliness are upheld, contributing to the wellbeing and comfort of residents and staff alike. This position offers an opportunity to work in a supportive environment where attention to detail and professionalism are highly valued.

Duties

Perform thorough cleaning of all areas within the care home, including bedrooms, communal spaces, bathrooms, and kitchens.
Use appropriate cleaning agents and equipment to ensure surfaces are sanitised effectively.
Maintain high standards of hygiene by disinfecting frequently touched surfaces regularly.
Dispose of waste safely and in accordance with health and safety regulations.
Restock cleaning supplies and ensure equipment is maintained in good working order.
Follow health and safety procedures at all times to minimise risks for residents and staff.
Report any maintenance issues or hazards promptly to management.
Adhere to infection control protocols, especially when dealing with vulnerable residents or during outbreaks.

Qualifications

Previous experience in commercial cleaning or janitorial roles is desirable.
Experience working in a hospital or healthcare environment is advantageous.
Knowledge of infection control procedures and health & safety standards.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
Reliable, punctual, and committed to maintaining a safe environment for residents.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a busy care setting.
