Community Wellbeing Officer
The North Tyneside Council Adult Social Care Community Wellbeing Teams are going through an existing redesign and expansion.
The service works with a wide range of adults who draw on care and support, including older adults, younger adults with physical disabilities, and neuro divergent people. This will offer you a varied workload, giving opportunities to develop your skills.
We have remodelled out teams to work efficiently: the Assessment and support planning team specialises in providing short-term, proportionate support; the CORE team focuses on longer term collaborative risk management and trauma-informed practice; and the Review team supports people with ongoing needs, harnessing equipment and technology to promote inclusion and independence for longer. We will match you to your team based on your skills and knowledge to help you thrive.
Using an innovative and evidence based caseload weighting framework, we will make sure your workload stays equitable, based on complexity and intensity, rather than just numbers. All our social care staff currently have access to AI to help save time typing , so you can concentrate on supporting people.
As well as investing in more social care posts, we are also increasing the number of managers to enable more reflective practice and coaching, to help you do your best work.
We will support you with your career ambitions, we are incredibly proud to have come 2nd in the country for employee satisfaction in 2025 Employee Standards Health Check. We achieved a 'Good' rating in our recent CQC inspection, which highlighted our positive organisational culture and investment in professional development.

Our Carbon Net-Zero 2030 Action Plan
In 2019, North Tyneside Council declared a climate emergency. This declaration set a target to reduce the carbon footprint of the council’s operations, and the borough, by 50% by 2023 and to align to the Government’s net zero target of 2050.
We recognise the significant role we can play in the borough in helping to limit climate change, but we can’t do this alone; we need help from all our residents, businesses, voluntary and community sectors and of course all those who apply and work for us. Together we can make North Tyneside a sustainable place to live and work for everyone in the borough.
