Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in providing support and guidance within a day centre environment, This role involves mentoring, assisting with daily activities, and creating a positive environment that encourages growth and independence. The position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those you support, working within a supportive and professional environment.

This position also requires chaperone duty on the transport.

candidates require a FULL uk driving licence with D1 entitlement which entitles you to drive 17 seat mini bus

Responsibilities

Provide personalised support to adults with learning disabilities ensuring their individual needs are met with empathy and understanding
Assist with daily routines, including educational activities, leisure pursuits, and personal care when necessary
Mentor and motivate individuals to develop confidence, social skills, and independence
Support behavioural management strategies in line with organisational policies
Collaborate with colleagues, families, and external professionals to deliver cohesive support plans
Facilitate engaging activities that promote learning, creativity, and social interaction
Maintain accurate records of support provided and progress made
Promote a safe environment by adhering to health and safety guidelines at all times

Requirements

Experience or interest in working with adults with learning disabilities is highly desirable
Strong mentoring skills with the ability to inspire confidence and trust
Passion for teaching and supporting personal development
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Compassionate nature with a patient approach to individual needs
Ability to work effectively as part of a team within a dynamic environment
Flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances and requirements
Relevant qualifications or training in supporting roles are advantageous but not essential

Hours Wednesday - Friday 9.30am - 5pm

You will need to be flexible with hours to cover holidays for support and driving hours.
