Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our construction and infrastructure team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of cost estimation, control, and financial reporting throughout the lifecycle of projects. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to high-profile projects, ensuring financial efficiency and adherence to budgets. The ideal applicant will possess strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of construction processes, and expertise in cost control.

Duties

Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets for construction projects, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
Monitor project costs throughout the construction phase, identifying potential overruns and implementing corrective measures.
Conduct regular cost analysis and reporting to project managers and stakeholders.
Negotiate with suppliers, contractors, and vendors to secure favourable terms and prices.
Manage contractual variations, change orders, and claims related to project costs.
Collaborate with design teams to ensure project specifications align with budget constraints.
Assist in procurement processes by preparing tender documentation and evaluating bids.
Maintain comprehensive records of all financial transactions related to projects for audit purposes.
Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and company policies regarding financial management.
Help grow the business with potential share options

Qualifications

Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction or infrastructure sector.
Strong knowledge of cost control techniques, budgeting, and financial management.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Proficiency in industry-standard software such as CostX, Bluebeam, or equivalent tools.
Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build effective relationships with clients and suppliers.
Relevant qualification such as a degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management is preferred.
Attention to detail with a focus on accuracy in financial calculations and reporting.
Good communication skills, both written and verbal, suitable for liaising with diverse stakeholders. This position offers an engaging environment where your expertise in cost control will directly contribute to the successful delivery of major projects.
