VACANCY - BUILDINGS ASSISTANT

Saxon Air is looking for an enthusiastic and confident individual with facilities experience to take over the general day-to-day running of the Business Aviation Centre (BAC) in Norwich. As an integral part of the facilities team at Saxon Air, you will help to provide a vitally important service, helping to manage the Business Aviation Centre (BAC), support the Facilities Manager to manage BAC tenants and deliver high quality service to our clients, customers and staff.

We are a business aircraft operator and helicopter operator based at Norwich Airport in our purpose-built Business Aviation Centre and hangar facility, designed specifically to be multi-functional, to meet the demands when serving the offshore transportation sector as well as offering excellence when meeting the needs of our business and general aviation users using our customer lounge. We have a team of valued staff, passionate about delivering a superior service aimed at exceeding our customers’ expectations.

This position is offered on a permanent contract, 40hrs a week. The best candidate will possess facilities experience, confidence in communicating as a people-facing team member with a good understanding of accounting and health and safety regulations.

THE ROLE & CANDIDATE

Saxon Air is looking for a Buildings Assistant to join its busy Facilities Team on a permanent 40hrs contract. The best candidate will possess facilities experience, confidence in communicating as a people-facing team member with a good understanding of accounting and health and safety regulations.

Specifics of the job involve:

Day to day running of building services.
Making sure the facilities Manager has all the paperwork for contractors coming on to site
Carrying on site H&S briefings before work commences.
Carrying out the monthly paperwork for the building.
Weekly Audits for the building.
Covering the Hangar 11 Service contract and keeping the records filed for inspection if required.
Take Charge of the cleaning contract and tendering every 2 years to keep the contract competitive, bringing all tenants into a service contract.
Review chemical products and orders for the Bac.
Review all current suppliers tender where possible for competitive rates and savings.
Have input to the business plan and budgets annually.
Meeting room set ups.
Fulfilling the facilities business plan.

The best candidate will have:

Someone with facilities experience. Able to complete basic in house maintenance if required.
Must be confident in communicating as a people facing team member enabling good negotiating on contractor pricing.
Has a Health &Safety understanding with a qualification no lower than an IOSH. (Training would be given for the right person if required). Able to deal with and read RAMS/risk assessments
Organisation skills - so the annual servicing is completed in time to comply with the companies’ legal obligations.
Disciplined budgetary skills with a good understanding of accounting.

Fundamentals

This is a permanent 40-hour a week contract , based in Norwich at the Klyne Business Aviation Centre.

Our current pay is aligned with the Real Living Wage.

You must have an existing and ongoing right to work in the UK under current Immigration rules to be considered for this role.
