About the Role

We are looking for a proactive and passionate Health & Safety Advisor to join our business. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a pivotal role in continuing to shape and supporting a positive health & safety culture across the business.

Based in Norwich and reporting to the Head of Compliance, you will act as a trusted advisor, ensuring our operations remain compliant, safe, and aligned with industry best practice. You will work closely with operational teams, management, and external stakeholders to continuously improve our health & safety performance.

Key Responsibilities

Provide expert advice and support on all health & safety matters across the organisation
Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, reviewing and updating policies and procedures as required
Conduct site visits, inspections, and audits to monitor standards and drive improvements
Lead or support accident and incident investigations, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions
Develop and review risk assessments, safe systems of work, and Construction Phase Plans
Maintain accurate records of health & safety activities, training, and compliance
Deliver health & safety inductions and contribute to ongoing training programmes
Support and maintain accreditations (e.g. CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, ISO 14001 & ISO 45001)
Act as a key point of contact for internal teams, contractors, and external bodies such as the HSE
Promote a positive safety culture across all levels of the organisation

About You

We’re looking for someone who is confident, approachable, and able to influence at all levels.

Essential:

3–5 years’ experience in a health & safety role
Experience conducting investigations and implementing H&S improvements
Strong knowledge of H&S legislation and best practice
NEBOSH qualification (Certificate minimum; Diploma desirable) or equivalent
Membership of IOSH (ideally working toward Chartered status)
Excellent communication and organisational skills
Ability to work independently and adapt in a fast-paced environment
Full UK driving licence

Desirable:

Experience with ISO 45001 auditing
Fire safety, COSHH, DSE or manual handling assessor training
Experience working in construction, gas, or technical environments
