Full job description

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Domestic & Laundry Assistant to join our team! In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards across our Home, ensuring a comfortable and safe environment for residents, staff, and visitors. Your attention to detail and proactive approach will help uphold the highest levels of cleanliness, sanitation, and laundry management. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a well-organised, welcoming atmosphere while working in a dynamic environment that values teamwork and professionalism.

Duties

Perform comprehensive cleaning tasks throughout the Home, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and disinfecting surfaces to maintain a hygienic environment. This includes all bedrooms, communal areas, corridors and offices.
Manage laundry operations efficiently, including sorting, washing, drying, folding, and distributing linens and clothing.
Ensure all laundry equipment is operated safely and maintained properly for optimal performance.
Follow strict health and safety protocols during cleaning and laundry procedures to prevent contamination or accidents.
Restock supplies such as cleaning products, linens, and toiletries as needed to ensure smooth daily operations.
Assist with waste disposal in accordance with environmental guidelines and Home policies.
Collaborate with team members to prioritise tasks and ensure all areas are cleaned to the highest standards.

Requirements

Proven experience in cleaning within healthcare or hospital settings.
Strong knowledge of cleaning techniques, sanitation standards, and laundry processes.
Ability to operate cleaning machinery and laundry equipment safely and effectively.
Excellent attention to detail with a proactive approach to maintaining cleanliness standards.
Good physical stamina for standing, bending, lifting, and performing repetitive tasks throughout the shift.
Familiarity with health and safety regulations related to cleaning products and laundry procedures.
Good understanding of the importance of maintaining accurate records and the ability to do so using various formats.
Prior experience working in care environments is essential.
Complete all mandatory training, and any additional training relevant to the role, within specified timeframes in accordance with current guidelines and legislation.
