Full job description

The Role

HERMEQ are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Assistant – Accounts Receivable to join our Finance team. This role will be responsible for supporting the end-to-end accounts receivable process, ensuring invoices are raised accurately, payments are collected promptly, and customer accounts are maintained efficiently.

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting cash flow management while providing excellent service to both internal stakeholders and customers.

Key Responsibilities

Accounts Receivable

Raise and issue customer invoices accurately and in a timely manner.
Process credit notes and customer account adjustments where required.
Monitor customer accounts and maintain accurate records of outstanding balances.
Allocate incoming payments and reconcile customer accounts.
Follow up overdue invoices through email and telephone communication.
Manage customer queries relating to invoices, payments, and account balances.
Support the resolution of invoice disputes and discrepancies.
Assist in preparing aged debt reports and cash collection forecasts.

Finance Administration

Perform daily bank reconciliations and payment allocations.
Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation.
Assist with month-end accounts receivable reconciliations.
Support audit requests and finance reporting requirements.
Ensure compliance with company policies and financial controls.
Assist with other finance and administrative tasks as required.

Skills & Experience

Essential

Minimum 5 years’ experience in an Accounts Assistant, Finance Assistant, Credit Control, or Accounts Receivable role.
Strong numerical and analytical skills.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Strong organisational skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Desirable

Understanding of credit control and debt collection processes.
Experience working in a fast-paced business.

Pay: £30,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
