Full job description

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented, driven Compliance Officer to ensure our operations adhere to the highest industry standards. You will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and developing our Quality Systems specifically ensuring continuous alignment with BRC standards and relevant ISO frameworks. Working across sister companies, you will ensure our products remain safe, authentic, legal, and of the highest quality.

Key Responsibilities

Compliance & Accreditation Management

Maintain and support all site certifications, specifically BRC, relevant ISO standards and FSC.
Review and update company policies, procedures, and manuals to ensure alignment with current laws and industry standards.
Manage the Quality system and ensure documentation is inspection- and audit-ready at all times.

Audit & Risk Management

Plan, schedule, and conduct internal audits regarding BRC standards, ISO frameworks, and Good Manufacturing Practice.
Lead and facilitate external third-party, customer, and regulatory audits.
Perform routine compliance risk assessments and develop mitigation plans.
Ensure timely root-cause analysis and corrective actions are implemented for any non-conformities.
Working with the Production Manager analyse customer data and identify and support in-house training where regular shortfalls are recognised.

Training & Quality Culture

Champion a strong safety, authenticity, and quality-focused culture among

the workforce.

Conduct compliance and policy training for new and existing staff.
Ensure all employees are aware of their roles and responsibilities in maintaining compliance.

Interdepartmental Collaboration

Work closely with Operations, Production and the HR/H&S team to embed site rules and procedures.
Assist in supplier assurance processes and maintain accurate data records (e.g., product specifications
Track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and present compliance reports to senior management.

Qualifications & Skills

Experience: Proven experience in a compliance or quality management role within a manufacturing, production, or relevant environment with preference given to the packaging industry
Standards Knowledge: Strong, demonstrable working knowledge of BRC and ISO certifications.
Auditing: Recognised Lead Auditor qualification (ISO or BRC) is highly desirable.
Regulatory Knowledge: Deep understanding of health, safety, and legislative requirements.
Skills: Excellent attention to detail, strong proficiency in MS Office/data management, and excellent verbal/written communication skills.

Pay: £38,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
