Senior Chef / Sous Chef

Fit Fuel – Orpington

Fit Fuel is a rapidly growing meal preparation and live food service business operating from one of the area's most popular and well-established gyms. With exciting expansion plans on the horizon, we are looking for an experienced and motivated Chef to join our team and play a key role in our continued success.

This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate culinary professional who enjoys taking ownership, working independently, and contributing to a growing business. You'll work closely with our Head Chef while having the autonomy to manage the kitchen and help shape the future of our menu and food offering.

What You'll Be Doing

Preparing and cooking a wide range of fresh, high-quality meals to exceptional standards
Assisting with the development of exciting new menu items, tailored to customer demand and seasonal ingredients
Supporting the growth of our healthy meal-prep and live food service offering
Managing kitchen operations and leading the team in the Head Chef's absence
Ensuring food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness standards are consistently maintained
Monitoring food production to ensure excellent quality, consistency, and presentation
Managing stock levels and ordering supplies when required
Working closely with front-of-house and till staff to deliver an outstanding customer experience
Supporting colleagues and providing holiday cover when needed
Contributing ideas and helping drive continuous improvement within the business

What We're Looking For

Previous experience in a senior kitchen position, such as Senior Chef, Sous Chef, or similar
Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen operations
Understanding of menu development and nutritional/macronutrient calculations
Excellent knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations
A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn and develop
The ability to work confidently both independently and as part of a team
Strong organisational skills and the ability to perform under pressure
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Passion for delivering exceptional food and customer service

Job Details

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Zero Hours Contract

Schedule:

8-hour shifts
Monday to Friday
Weekend availability required
Bank holiday working may be required

Experience Required:

Minimum 1–2 years' kitchen experience
Previous supervisory or senior kitchen experience preferred
