Full job description

Hours: 37.5 per week
Contract: Permanent
Salary: £31,375 per annum

We have an excellent opportunity for a Team Leader to support the Service Manager in leading a dedicated team and delivering exceptional care within a unique and respected setting.

Elmthorpe Convent, located in the Cowley area of Oxford, is home to members of the Salesian Sisters and is managed by Saint John of God Hospitaller Services.

About the Role

Working alongside the Service Manager, you will play a key role in the day-to-day operational management of the service. You will lead and support the staff team to ensure that residents – the Sisters and others in the community – receive high-quality, person-centred care that reflects and promotes the religious ethos of the home.

We are committed to enabling those we support to live with dignity and independence in a caring, holistic environment.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee daily operations within the home
Ensure compliance with CQC standards and healthcare regulations
Lead, motivate, and support the staff team
Develop, implement, and review personalised care plans
Manage resources and budgets effectively
Promote a positive, inclusive environment for residents and staff
Work closely with the pastoral lead and clerical community
Liaise with families and external professionals to maintain high standards of care
Support staff through supervision, training, and development

About You

To be successful in this role, you will:

Hold (or be working towards) an NVQ Level 3 in Management
Have experience in a senior role within a residential or similar care setting
Demonstrate strong leadership and organisational skills
Possess excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
Be committed to delivering high-quality, person-centred care
Be knowledgeable in CQC standards, safeguarding, and health & safety practices
Have experience in medication management within a care environment
Be flexible to work weekends and unsociable hours as required
Show a commitment to continuous professional development
Embody the values of hospitality, compassion, respect, justice, and trust
