Full job description

Join our team at The Star! We’re launching a brand-new pizza kitchen in our much-loved Oxford pub, and we’re looking for a Pizza Chef to help us create simple, delicious, stone-baked pizzas for our guests.

Full-time (including weekends)

Pay

£12.50–£16.00 per hour (depending on experience)

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join The Star’s new kitchen team as we begin serving food for the first time.
Our menu focuses exclusively on pizzas — made from pre-prepared dough and quality ingredients, cooked in a modern electric stone-baked oven.
We’re looking for someone local, enthusiastic, reliable, and eager to learn. Full training will be provided for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare pizzas using house made dough and fresh toppings
Cook pizzas in an electric stone-baked oven, ensuring consistent quality
Maintain excellent hygiene and food safety standards at all times
Assist with stock rotation, prep, and cleaning duties
Support the Kitchen Manager and other team members during busy shifts
Help create a positive, efficient working atmosphere in the kitchen

Requirements

A positive attitude and willingness to learn
Good attention to detail and time management
Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
Reliable, hardworking, and able to work evenings and weekends
