Full job description

We are looking for a compassionate and reliable Care Assistant to join our dedicated team, supporting vulnerable elderly residents in a nursing home setting. This is a rewarding role where you will play a vital part in promoting dignity, independence and wellbeing.

The Role

As a Care Assistant, you will provide high-quality, person-centred care in line with individual care plans. You will support residents with daily living activities while ensuring their safety, comfort and dignity at all times.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver personal care including washing, dressing, bathing, continence care and mobility support
Assist with food and fluid intake, ensuring meals are prepared and served to required standards
Support residents with mobility aids and personal equipment
Follow care plans and risk assessments to maintain safety and wellbeing
Maintain high standards of infection prevention and control
Respect confidentiality, dignity and individual rights at all times
Work in line with company policies, procedures and health and safety guidelines

About You

Caring, patient and respectful approach to supporting vulnerable individuals
Ability to build positive relationships with residents and colleagues
Strong communication and observational skills
Reliable, punctual and able to work as part of a team

Requirements

NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care (desirable)
Willingness to complete the Care Certificate (paid for by the company) within 6 months if not already achieved
Basic knowledge of health and safety, manual handling, safeguarding and infection control
