Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Cook/Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and cooking, with a keen eye for food safety and presentation. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a dynamic kitchen environment, delivering high-quality meals to our valued customers. Previous restaurant or catering experience is preferred, but a genuine enthusiasm for culinary arts is essential. The successful applicant will be responsible for preparing delicious dishes, maintaining cleanliness standards, and supporting the overall smooth operation of the kitchen.

Duties

Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to recipes and menu specifications
Assist in meal preparation, ensuring timely delivery of orders
Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene throughout all food handling processes
Organise ingredients and kitchen equipment for efficient workflow
Ensure all food is presented attractively and served at the appropriate temperature
Support the team during busy periods, including serving customers when required
Clean and sanitise workstations, utensils, and equipment regularly to comply with health regulations
Follow all safety procedures and report any hazards or issues promptly

Qualifications

Proven experience in food preparation and cooking, ideally within a restaurant or catering environment
Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in kitchen hygiene
Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in meal presentation
Strong teamwork and communication skills
Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends if required
Formal culinary training or relevant qualifications are advantageous but not essential for enthusiastic candidates
