Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and efficient Kitchen Porter to join our BOH team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our kitchen environment, supporting food preparation and ensuring high standards of hygiene are upheld. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in gaining experience within the hospitality sector, with potential pathways into food production and cooking.

Duties

Responsible for cleaning and sanitising kitchen equipment, utensils, and work surfaces to meet food safety standards.
Assisting with basic food preparation tasks under supervision, including washing, prepping and portioning ingredients.
Supporting the kitchen team during busy service periods by ensuring a steady flow of clean equipment and maintaining a tidy workspace.
Managing waste disposal efficiently and adhering to recycling protocols.
Assisting with stock organisation and storage to ensure ingredients are stored correctly and inventory is maintained.
Supporting the team with general kitchen duties such as setting up workstations and replenishing supplies as needed.
Upholding health and safety regulations at all times to maintain a safe working environment.

Requirements

Previous experience in a kitchen environment or hospitality setting is desirable but not essential; training will be provided.
Basic understanding of food safety standards and hygiene practices.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
Team-oriented mindset with good communication skills.
Flexibility to work shifts as required, including evenings or weekends if necessary.
Food production knowledge, or culinary experience are advantageous for candidates aspiring to develop into leadership roles within the kitchen team. This role is ideal for motivated individuals seeking to build their career in hospitality or culinary arts while contributing to a high-quality dining experience.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent, Zero hours contract

Pay: From £13.00 per hour
