The Abbey Group - Job Vacancy: Personal Assistant / Secretary

Location: Great Lumley, Chester le Street
Job Type: Full-Time
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

About the Role

We are seeking a highly organised, professional, and proactive Personal Assistant / Secretary to provide administrative and organisational support. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities, and ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the business.

Key Responsibilities

Managing diaries, appointments, and meetings
Answering telephone calls and responding to emails professionally
Preparing correspondence, reports, and presentations
Organising travel arrangements and accommodation when required
Maintaining accurate filing systems and company records
Scheduling meetings and taking minutes where necessary
Handling confidential information with discretion
Providing general administrative support to management
Liaising with clients, suppliers, and other stakeholders
Assisting with office organisation and day-to-day operations

Essential Skills & Experience

Previous experience as a Personal Assistant, Secretary, or Administrator
Excellent organisational and time management skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Ability to prioritise workloads and work independently
High level of attention to detail
Professional appearance and manner
Ability to maintain confidentiality

Desirable

Experience using office management software
Knowledge of bookkeeping or invoicing
Full UK driving licence (if applicable)
