Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Cleaner to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in various environments, ensuring that all areas are tidy, presentable, and welcoming. This role is perfect for individuals with a passion for cleanliness and an eye for detail, who can provide excellent customer service while performing their duties.

Domestic Cleaner — Independent Veterinary Practice (Evenings, Mon–Fri)

Location: Wrights Vets, Birtley, DH3 2QH

Hours: 6:00 pm – 8:30 pm, Monday to Friday (plus 2.5 hours flexible per week for deep cleaning) Salary: £13.40 per hour Contract: Permanent, no weekend work

About us A small, independently run veterinary practice with a friendly, supportive team. We pride ourselves on excellent patient care and a welcoming environment for staff and clients. We’re looking for a reliable cleaner to help keep the practice hygienic, safe, and presentable each evening

Responsibilities

Perform cleaning tasks in assigned areas, including dusting, mopping, vacuuming, and sanitising surfaces.
Ensure all restrooms are clean and well-stocked with necessary supplies.
Handle waste disposal and recycling in accordance with company policies.
Maintain cleaning equipment and report any maintenance issues as needed.
Provide exceptional customer service to guests or clients, addressing any concerns or requests promptly.
Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and high standards of cleanliness.

Qualifications

Previous janitorial experience is preferred, particularly in commercial cleaning or hospital environments.
Strong customer service skills with the ability to interact positively with clients and guests.
Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and tasks as needed.
A willingness to learn new skills related to cleaning techniques and equipment usage.
