Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Takeaway Assistant to join our busy food service team. This role involves supporting the smooth operation of our takeaway service, ensuring customers receive high-quality meals in a timely manner. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food, excellent customer service skills, and experience working in a fast-paced restaurant environment. This position offers an opportunity to develop culinary skills and gain valuable experience within the hospitality industry.

Responsibilities

Prepare and package takeaway meals according to company standards and food safety regulations
Assist in meal preparation and food presentation to ensure quality and consistency
Support kitchen staff with food safety practices, including hygiene and cleanliness standards
Serve customers at the counter or via takeaway orders, providing friendly and efficient service
Handle cash transactions accurately and operate POS systems as required
Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and equipment throughout shifts
Restock supplies and ingredients as needed to ensure smooth kitchen operations
Follow health and safety guidelines at all times to promote a safe working environment

Qualifications

Previous experience in catering, cooking, or restaurant settings is desirable but not essential
Knowledge of food preparation, meal assembly, and kitchen safety procedures
Strong organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
Excellent communication skills and a friendly demeanour when interacting with customers
Ability to work as part of a team in a busy environment
Basic understanding of food safety standards and hygiene practices
Flexibility to work during peak hours, including evenings and weekends if required
