Healthcare Assistant (HCA) – Dementia Care Home

Exmouth

£13.20ph + Enhancements

132 Hours Per Month (3 x 12-Hour Shifts Per Week) Day Shift

Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Health Care Assistant to provide high-quality support to individuals in a fabulous CQC rated Good Dementia Care home. The successful candidate will play a vital role in assisting with daily activities, ensuring residents' comfort, and promoting their well-being. This role offers an excellent opportunity for those passionate about caring for others and committed to making a positive difference in people's lives. Applicants should possess strong communication skills, be proficient in English, and have the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Duties

Assisting residents or clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
Supporting individuals with mobility and daily activities to promote independence
Implementing and updating personalised care plans in collaboration with senior staff
Administering medication as directed by healthcare professionals (where qualified)
Maintaining accurate records of care provided using IT systems
Communicating effectively with residents, families, and healthcare teams to ensure holistic care
Supporting emotional well-being through companionship and active listening
Assisting with light domestic tasks to maintain a clean and safe environment
Driving between different care locations or visits as required (driving skills preferred)

Experience

Previous experience working within a care home or providing home care is desirable
Good IT skills for documentation and communication purposes
Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal
Ability to follow detailed care plans accurately and sensitively
Experience in handling sensitive situations with empathy and professionalism
