Housekeeper – The Griffin Inn, NewquayJob Summary

The Griffin Inn, Newquay is looking for a dedicated, reliable and hardworking Housekeeper to join our friendly hospitality team.

This is a full-time position working 5 days per week, offering good rates of pay.

As part of our housekeeping team, you will be responsible for maintaining a high standard of cleanliness throughout our guest bedrooms, bathrooms and communal areas. We are looking for someone with a great eye for detail who takes pride in their work and understands the importance of creating a clean, comfortable and welcoming environment for our guests.

Responsibilities

Clean and prepare guest bedrooms and bathrooms to a high standard
Make beds and change bed linen and towels
Replenish toiletries, refreshments and other guest amenities
Dust and polish furniture and surfaces
Vacuum carpets, sweep and mop floors
Clean and maintain communal and public areas of the hotel
Dispose of rubbish and recycling appropriately
Ensure rooms are completed efficiently and ready for arriving guests
Report maintenance issues, damage or faults promptly
Keep housekeeping and cleaning areas organised
Use cleaning products and equipment safely and correctly
Follow all relevant health and safety procedures

What We’re Looking For

Previous housekeeping or cleaning experience is preferred, particularly within a hotel or hospitality environment
Excellent attention to detail and high standards of cleanliness
Reliable, punctual and hardworking
Good time-management and organisational skills
Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
Good communication skills when dealing with colleagues and guests
Knowledge of cleaning products and supplies would be beneficial
Able to manage the physical requirements of a busy housekeeping role
A positive attitude and willingness to get stuck in
