Job Overview

We are seeking a dependable and proactive General Operative to join our team. This role involves supporting various operational tasks within our organisation, ensuring smooth workflow and maintaining high standards of safety and efficiency. The ideal candidate will be adaptable, hardworking, and eager to contribute to a dynamic work environment. This position offers valuable experience across multiple departments and is suitable for individuals looking to develop their skills within a professional setting.

Responsibilities

Assist with the preparation and organisation of materials and equipment required for daily operations
Support team members in completing production or logistical tasks efficiently
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of work areas to ensure safety standards are met
Operate basic machinery or tools as instructed, adhering to safety protocols
Conduct routine inspections of equipment and report any faults or issues promptly
Follow health and safety guidelines at all times, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
Support stock management activities, including receiving, storing, and distributing supplies
Assist with loading and unloading goods using appropriate lifting techniques and equipment
Participate in training programmes to enhance skills relevant to the role

Requirements

Previous experience in a similar operational or labouring role is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided
Strong organisational skills with an ability to prioritise tasks effectively
Good physical fitness, capable of lifting moderate weights and standing for extended periods
Ability to work well within a team as well as independently when required
Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining safety standards at all times
Flexibility to work shifts as required, including early mornings or late shifts if necessary
Basic understanding of health and safety procedures in a manufacturing or industrial environment is desirable but not mandatory

This position is ideal for motivated individuals seeking hands-on experience in a busy operational setting. We value reliability, enthusiasm, and a proactive attitude towards work.

Pay: £12.71 per hour
