Environmental Conditions

Adherence to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Safety Standards, Cleanroom: no hair products, jewelry, makeup, nail polish, perfume, exposed piercings, facial hair etc... allowed, Laboratory Setting, Loud Noises (Equipment/Machinery), Some degree of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) required (safety glasses, gowning, gloves, lab coat, ear plugs etc.), Standing for full shift, Strong Odors (chemical, lubricants, biological products etc.)

Job Description

Job Purpose

To support the safe, efficient, and compliant production of goods by operating equipment, following standard procedures, and ensuring quality standards are met.

Key Responsibilities

Operate basic production machinery and equipment according to standard operating procedures (SOPs)
Carry out routine production tasks such as assembly, packaging, labeling, or material handling
Follow strict health & safety and hygiene regulations at all times
Ensure products meet required quality standards and report any defects
Complete production records and documentation accurately
Maintain a clean and organized work environment (e.g., GMP standards if applicable)
Work as part of a team to meet daily production targets
Assist with stock handling, including raw materials and finished goods
Report equipment faults or safety concerns to supervisors

Skills & Experience

Basic understanding of production or manufacturing environments (preferred but not always required)
Ability to follow instructions and procedures accurately
Good attention to detail
Basic literacy and numeracy skills
Ability to work as part of a team
Willingness to learn and develop new skills

Personal Attributes

Reliable and punctual
Strong work ethic
Flexible approach to shift work (if applicable)
Commitment to safety and quality

Working Conditions

May involve shift work (days, nights, weekends)
Standing for long periods
Use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
Work in controlled environments (e.g., cleanrooms, warehouses, or production lines)

Thermo Fisher Scientific recently announced that it has entered into an agreement to sell its microbiology business to Astorg, a leading pan-European private equity firm with deep expertise in healthcare, focused on a select set of subsectors, including pharmaceutical services and technology, medtech and related services, life science tools and diagnostics.

This decision follows a thoughtful evaluation as part of Thermo Fisher’s ongoing business strategy to actively manage and strengthen our portfolio.

We expect the transaction will be completed in the second half of 2026, subject to customary closing conditions and applicable regulatory approvals. Until the transaction is complete, Thermo Fisher will continue to operate the business.

If you join the microbiology business prior to the close of the transaction, your employment is expected to transition to Astorg.
