We currently have the following opportunity:

Street Sweeping Operative - PKC13743
£25,640 - £26,785
Friarton Depot, Perth

The successful postholder will be required to work on a variety of environment service tasks including street sweeping, refuse collection, waste disposal and grounds maintenance duties, though your primary work is street sweeping.

The Communities Service operates new ways of working which is a variable shift system. This is Shift B, Week 1 Thurs - Mon, Week 2 Thurs - Fri.

You are required to be available to work on a standby basis working additional hours outside normal working hours, including weekdays and weekends.

You will be expected to carry out a range of duties within the activities operating under the Foreman’s control.

You will ensure that work is undertaken, carried out and completed to the quality standards required according to instructions received and ensuring that safe working practises are adopted in accordance with instructions given and to monitor to ensure compliance.

You will follow through and comply with The Environment Service safe systems of work for Street sweeping (copies available on request).

You will ensure completion of relevant daily paperwork.

You will have the opportunity to participate in on-the-job training, and your continuous development will be encouraged and supported throughout your career with Perth & Kinross Council.

Skills & Experience Required

You must be able to carry out the physical demands of the post and be able to communicate effectively with team members and the public.

You must have a valid UK driving licence as this post requires you to travel to a variety of locations across Perth and Kinross.

A Cat B Driving licence is desirable.
