Full job description

Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head Chef to lead our small countryside hotel restaurant. This role is not a high volume establishment, small menu and traditional pub food. Live in accommodation included as part of the deal Plus tips.

you’ll be need to work well on your own with the help of the kp/commis. well equipped kitchen, 10 grid rational, thermomix etc

5 days over 7.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of food preparation, ensuring high standards of quality, safety, and presentation. This role offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your culinary expertise within a dynamic hospitality environment, managing kitchen operations and inspiring your team to deliver exceptional dining experiences.

Responsibilities

Lead and supervise the kitchen ensuring efficient workflow and high standards of food production
Oversee the preparation and cooking of a diverse range of dishes, maintaining consistency and quality
Develop innovative menus in collaboration with management, reflecting current trends and customer preferences
Ensure strict adherence to food safety regulations and hygiene standards at all times
Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and control food costs effectively
Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment
Monitor kitchen operations during service hours to ensure timely delivery of orders
Maintain cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen area in accordance with health & safety guidelines
Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service and customer satisfaction

Qualifications

Proven supervising experience within a busy kitchen environment, ideally in a restaurant or hospitality setting
Extensive experience in food preparation, cooking, and food safety standards
Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a diverse team
Excellent knowledge of culinary techniques and current food trends
Previous restaurant experience demonstrating proficiency in managing kitchen operations
Familiarity with health & safety regulations relevant to food production environments
Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to multitask under pressure
A passion for delivering outstanding culinary experiences and maintaining high standards of quality and presentation

Pay: £16.00 per hour
