Full job description

Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Warehouse Operative to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of warehouse tasks, ensuring smooth operations and maintaining high standards of safety and efficiency. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with warehouse experience or those eager to develop their skills within a fast-paced environment.

Duties

Handling materials efficiently, including loading and unloading goods from lorries and storage areas
Operating forklifts and other warehouse machinery safely and effectively
Picking, packing, and preparing orders for dispatch in accordance with company standards
Organising stock through stocking and replenishment activities to optimise storage space
Conducting quality control checks to ensure products meet required specifications
Assisting with shipping and receiving processes, including documentation and labelling
Performing mechanical tasks related to warehouse equipment maintenance and troubleshooting
Ensuring the warehouse environment is clean, organised, and compliant with health and safety regulations
Heavy lifting of goods as required, following proper manual handling procedures
Helping occasionally on the tills during busy periods. (training provided).

Requirements

Previous experience in a warehouse environment is preferred but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate
Proficiency in materials handling, including load & unload activities
Experience operating forklifts or willingness to undertake forklift training (certification preferred but not essential)
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
Mechanical knowledge or aptitude for equipment maintenance is a plus
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
Good understanding of shipping & receiving procedures and quality control standards
Physical fitness to stand for extended periods and perform manual handling tasks effectively

This role is ideal for individuals seeking a hands-on position within a busy warehouse setting, committed to safety, accuracy, and operational excellence.

Pay: From £13.00 per hour
