Overview
We are seeking a proactive and highly organised Branch Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of the branch, ensuring efficient stock management, accurate customer order administration, and exceptional customer service.
This is a hands-on leadership role, requiring an individual who is equally comfortable supporting operational activities as they are leading and developing a small team. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating daily workloads, providing direction and support to colleagues, and ensuring the branch operates safely, efficiently, and in line with Company standards.
The Branch Manager will be accountable for maintaining a compliant, customer-focused, and high-performing environment, ensuring all activities are carried out in accordance with Company procedures and ISO 9001 and ISO 45001 requirements. Working closely with customers, suppliers, colleagues, and senior management, they will drive operational excellence, support continuous improvement, and foster a positive team culture where colleagues can perform at their best.
Service excellence, safety, and team engagement are paramount, with overall responsibility for branch performance, operational standards, and the development of a motivated and effective team.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day operation of the branch, ensuring activities are completed safely, efficiently, and in line with Company procedures.
- Coordinate, support, and motivate a small team, providing clear direction and leadership.
- Lead by example through active involvement in warehouse and operational activities when required.
- Manage stock control processes, ensuring inventory accuracy and effective stock management.
- Oversee customer order processing and fulfilment, ensuring orders are completed accurately and on time.
- Deliver and promote excellent customer service standards across the branch.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety requirements and promote a positive safety culture.
- Monitor branch performance and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, service delivery, and operational effectiveness.
- Conduct regular team communication, performance discussions, and development activities.
- Maintain accurate operational records, reports, and documentation.
- Communicate effectively with senior management regarding branch performance, challenges, and opportunities.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and support the achievement of business objectives.
Essential Skills and Experience
- Previous experience in a branch, warehouse, site, or operational management role.
- Experience leading, motivating, and developing a small team.
- Strong stock management and inventory control experience.
- Excellent customer service and relationship management skills.
- Strong organisational, planning, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to balance operational responsibilities with people leadership.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good understanding of health and safety requirements within an operational environment.
Desirable Skills and Experience
- Experience working within an ISO 9001 and/or ISO 45001 environment.
- Experience of implementing process improvements and driving operational efficiencies.
- Experience within a distribution, logistics, warehouse, or stock-based environment.
Competitive salary dependant on experience.
