Full job description

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Pre-school Treasurer to oversee the financial management of our pre-school. This role involves maintaining accurate financial records, managing budgets, and ensuring compliance with financial policies. The successful candidate will play a vital part in supporting the organisation’s financial health and ensuring smooth operational processes. Experience with accounting software and familiarity with programmes such as Excel and Sage is essential.

Duties

Manage all aspects of the pre-school’s financial transactions, including accounts payable and receivable.
Maintain accurate financial records using software such as Excel and Sage.
Prepare regular financial reports for the preschool committee and AGM meetings.
Oversee budgeting processes and monitor expenditure to ensure fiscal responsibility.
Reconcile bank statements and ensure all financial data is up-to-date and accurate.
Assist with financial planning and provide advice on fiscal matters to support organisational goals.
Ensure compliance with relevant financial policies, regulations, and audit requirements.
Collaborate with other staff members to facilitate smooth financial operations within the preschool.
Time for position is 2/3 hours per month

Requirements

Proven experience in financial management or accounting roles is essential.
Proficiency in software such as Excel, Sage, .
Strong organisational skills with an ability to manage financial tasks accurately and efficiently.
Experience handling accounts payable and receivable processes.
Knowledge of basic bookkeeping principles and financial reporting standards.
Excellent attention to detail and integrity in managing sensitive financial information.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a professional manner.
Prior experience working with educational institutions or non-profit organisations is advantageous but not mandatory.

Pay: £13.45 per hour
