About the Role

Our client is looking for an experienced, compassionate and motivated Deputy Manager to support the Registered Manager in leading a small, homely residential care home in Selby.

You'll play a key role in ensuring residents receive safe, effective and person-centred care while supporting, motivating and developing the staff team. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll help maintain high standards, promote continuous

improvement and ensure the home remains compliant with CQC requirements.

You must be diligent, a team player, and have high levels of integrity.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

· Support the Registered Manager in the day-to-day operation of the home.

· Promote safe, effective and person-centred care for all residents.

· Lead, supervise and support the care team, ensuring high standards of practice.

· Help to manage staffing, rotas, absence, recruitment, and induction.

· Oversee care plans, risk assessments, medication systems and daily care records.

· Ensure safeguarding, health and safety, infection prevention and CQC standards are maintained.

· Carry out audits, spot checks and quality assurance activities, implementing improvements where required.

· Respond appropriately to incidents, accidents, complaints and safeguarding concerns.

· Build positive relationships with residents, relatives, healthcare professionals and external agencies.

· Promote a positive, supportive culture that reflects our client’s values.

The Ideal Candidate

· A confident and approachable care professional who leads by example.

· Passionate about delivering care that is bespoke to each individual.

· Organised, reliable and able to make sound decisions.

· Committed to developing staff and maintaining high standards.

Essential Criteria

· NVQ / Diploma Level 3 in Health & Social Care.

· Previous supervisory experience within residential care, minimum five years as a Senior Carer, or two years as a Deputy Manager or Compliance Manager.

· Extensive knowledge of CQC regulations and best practice.

· Good computer literacy with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, electronic care plan systems and electronic rota systems.

· Strong communication, leadership and organisational skills.

· Willing to learn more.
