Full job description

Haulaway is an established, independent waste management and recycling company serving the South East of England. Family-owned and operated for over 35 years, we have built a reputation for delivering reliable and professional waste solutions to both commercial and domestic customers. Our services include skip hire, roll-on roll-off containers, grab hire, tipper hire and plant hire, supported by our modern recycling and waste transfer facilities.

Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced and reliable Loading Shovel Operator to join our team at our busy Waste Transfer and Recycling Facility. This is a hands-on role within our operations team, responsible for the safe and efficient movement of materials across site and supporting the smooth day-to-day running of our facility.

Monday to Friday 7.30 - 17.30

Key Responsibilities:

Safely operate a loading shovel to move, load and sort waste materials.
Feed processing plant and equipment in accordance with operational requirements.
Conduct daily vehicle inspections and report any defects.
Carry out routine cleaning and basic maintenance of equipment.
Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment.
Adhere to all company health, safety and environmental procedures.
Assist with other operational duties as required.

What We're Looking For

Valid Loading Shovel qualification (CPCS, NPORS or equivalent).
Previous experience operating loading shovels in a waste, recycling or similar industrial environment.
Strong awareness of health and safety practices.
Reliable, hardworking and able to work effectively as part of a team.
Physically fit and comfortable working in a busy outdoor industrial setting.

Desirable Experience

Minimum one year's loading shovel operating experience.
Experience within waste management, recycling or material handling operations.
