Job Advert: 1:1 Teaching Assistants (SEND Support)
Location: Littlehampton, West Sussex
Contract Type: Full-time / Part-time / Term-time only (flexible options available)
Start Date: Immediate or negotiable

We are seeking dedicated and compassionate 1:1 Teaching Assistants to join supportive school settings in the Littlehampton area. These roles involve providing tailored, individual support to pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), helping them to access learning, build confidence, and reach their full potential.

About the Role

As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with a named pupil, supporting their academic, social, and emotional development. You will collaborate with class teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to deliver personalised support plans.

Key responsibilities include:

Providing consistent 1:1 in-class and/or out-of-class support
Adapting learning activities to meet individual needs
Supporting behaviour regulation and emotional wellbeing
Encouraging independence and positive engagement in learning
Assisting with communication strategies where required
Recording observations and contributing to progress reviews

About You

We are looking for individuals who are:

Patient, empathetic, and resilient
Passionate about supporting children with additional needs
Able to build strong, trusting relationships with pupils
Reliable and committed to consistent attendance
Team players with good communication skills

Experience working in education, childcare, care, or support work is desirable but not essential, as training and ongoing support will be provided.

Requirements

Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
Right to work in the UK
