Events Operations Manager

We are seeking an event operations manager to join the team at Greenwich Borough Hall , working closely with other departments to deliver outstanding customer experiences. This role requires hands-on leadership and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, festival-style event environment.
Working in the role of Events Operations Manager, you will have full responsibility for the day to day running of the operations of our venue and of all events.Your tasks as an Events Operations Manager will include but not be limited to:
Responsibilities:
- Event Operations Management: Lead and manage all operational elements for the events, from planning to execution, ensuring smooth delivery of services.
- System creation: creating and implementing new systems for the company
- Logistics and Setup: Oversee the setup and breakdown of events, ensuring all equipment, food, and beverages are delivered and arranged to specifications., Check that the event spaces are set up as per requirements
- Manage inventory of all supplies and equipment, ensuring they are well-maintained and available as needed and ordering process and be responsible of back of house and preparations areas
- Hiring of the necessary staffing for that day and ensure the team are fully briefed and deliver outstanding customer events experience, Motivate and train the team to achieve the required standards
- Client Liaison: Act as the main point of contact for the venue's stakeholders and clients, ensuring that all needs are met, and expectations are exceeded.
- Vendor Coordination: Collaborate with suppliers, contractors, and third-party vendors to ensure timely delivery and setup of all necessary event components
- Health and Safety: Ensure all operations comply with relevant health, safety, and hygiene regulations, implementing risk assessments and maintaining high safety standards and that the venue is compliant.
- Budget Management: Monitor operational budgets for events, ensuring cost-efficiency without compromising quality or service.
- Quality Control: Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and service, conducting regular checks to guarantee consistency.
- Event Troubleshooting: Provide proactive solutions for any issues that arise during events, ensuring minimal disruption and maintaining a positive guest experience.
- Regularly inspecting the venues and making sure they are up to standard and managing contractors
The Ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience of managing events within a venue
- Strong management skills, ability to lead an engaged team with a hands-on approach to operations.
- Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations, and event logistics.
- Ability to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Exceptional communication and client relationship management skills.
- A keen eye for detail and a commitment to delivering excellence in every
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Evets or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite, with outstanding attention to detail is a must
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- holds a UK Driving Licence, extensive (ideal but not necessary) or lives local to Greenwich
- Demonstrates excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Annual salary starting £35,000 (full-time) must be available on weekends
