Job Summary

From September 2026 or asap, Maesteg School is seeking to appoint a competent and inspirational administration manager. Working as the lead within our administration team, the Administration Manager will lead, organise and oversee administrative functions across the school, ensuring high quality support services and strong operational management. The postholder will work closely with the headteacher, senior leadership team and governors, contributing to planning, development and evaluation of key school processes.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACTIVITIES:

Provide a comprehensive and professional PA service to Headteacher.
Organise and supervise administrative systems within the school.
Lead on the planning, development and monitoring of administrative support services and systems.
Manage all HR administration including HR absence, HR recruitment and HR contracts and advise on the development and implementation of systems.
Manage the administration support staff, including the training, coordination and delegation of relevant activities. Carry out recruitment, induction and appraisal of staff.
Monitor and manage the performance of the Administration support Team, prioritising own and team's workload in line with the strategic needs of the school, ensuring deadlines are met.
Provide advice and guidance to Senior staff and leaders on HR, staffing matters and administrative processes.
Provide support to the Governing Body.
Analyse and interpret data to produce high quality reports to support the school leadership and governance.
Carry out recruitment, induction, appraisal & training of support staff
Provide administrative and organisational support to the Leadership Team and Subject Staff
Support with Statutory returns
Any other duties deemed commensurate with the role.

Pay: £31,922.00-£33,525.00 per year
