Full job description

Infinium IT Ltd delivers expert IT & Wi-Fi support and installations across the UK through a team of highly experienced specialists. Due to a truly exciting period of growth, we are currently seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and highly skilled Field Service Engineer to work as part of our growing team.

The ideal candidate for the role of Field Service Engineer should be able to demonstrate experience in the field of Wi-Fi or Telecoms installations and maintenance. You will have a thorough understanding of H&S regulations and should have a customer-focused approach, skilled in working as part of a team or individually with a ‘Can Do’ attitude. The role is based from our Preston office, but involves a mix of working away from home and regional work.

The comprehensive package and benefits offered for the role of Field Service Engineer includes:

Competitive salary of £30,000 - £35,00 (depending on experience) Plus an on-call payment
Monday – Friday (40 hrs a week) occasional weekend work plus weekend on call rota.
Competitive holiday package of 20 days plus bank holidays - additional leave accrued after 3 years service.
Company van, mobile phone, laptop and tools provided, along with company fuel and credit card.
Training and development opportunities with internal progression available.
Additional day off on your birthday and additional benefits after probationary period

As a Field Service Engineer your duties will be:

Installation of Wi-Fi, IT & TV infrastructure on customer sites at both indoor and outdoor locations
Investigate / diagnose faults and repair Wi-Fi, IT & TV infrastructure.
Onsite Wi-Fi, IT & TV infrastructure proactive and maintenance tasks
Installation and termination of copper, fibre, and coax
Occasional groundworks as part of onsite installs and repairs
Wi-Fi & IT event installation and event support

Required skills:

Good understanding of Wi-Fi and Networking technologies
Experience in a field bases engineering role
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Experience of internal and external cabling (copper and fibre)
Comfortable working at height.
Full UK Driving Licence
Familiarity with Ubiquiti, Cambium, Mikrotik (advantageous)
Valid CSCS card and IPAF (advantageous)
Fibre splicing and testing (advantageous)

Pay: £30,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
