Full job description

Ashbridge Independent School and Nursery are looking for a reliable, skilled painter and decorator to carry out high-quality painting and decorating work across multiple educational sites, ensuring all areas are completed to a professional standard while working safely and efficiently during out-of-hours periods to minimise disruption to staff and pupils. The role involves working independently and as a lone worker for significant periods, requiring a high level of self-motivation, responsibility and adherence to health and safety procedures.

Responsibilities:

Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, and smoothing them
Apply paint, varnish, or other finishes to surfaces using brushes, rollers, or spray guns
Cover surfaces with drop cloths or masking tape to protect surrounding areas from paint splatter
Fill cracks, holes, and joints with caulk, putty, or other fillers
Use ladders or scaffolding to reach high areas for painting
Follow safety guidelines and wear appropriate protective gear while working

Skills:

Proven experience as a painter or similar role
Excellent knowledge of painting techniques and tools
Familiarity with different types of paint and finishes
Ability to work independently
Attention to detail and precision in work
Good communication skills to understand project requirements and collaborate with team members

Working Week: Monday-Thursday 18.00-04.00

Candidates must be able to get to all 4 sites across the Preston area.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

This role meets the requirements in respect of exempted questions under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.
