Full job description

Early Years Senior Practitioner (Room Leader 1 to 2's) Full Time

Location: Tinkerbells Nursery Ltd "The Bridgeinn" Penwortham Setting

Hours: 7:30 am – 6:00 pm, Monday to Friday

Salary: Dependent on qualifications and experience

Reports to: Manager / Assistant Manager

About the Role

As a senior member of the team, you’ll play a key role in supporting children’s development and well-being through engaging, play-based learning. You’ll work closely with our experienced team to deliver the EYFS curriculum in a nurturing and imaginative way. You will be responsible for the smooth running of the one to twos room. You will be supporting your team to ensure the children's safety, wellbeing and development. You will mentor your team, overseeing all observations and planning, plus ensuring the learning environment meets the needs of your cohort of children. We’re looking for someone who is caring, creative, and proactive — a practitioner who puts children at the centre of everything they do.

Key Responsibilities

· Provide high-quality care and education in line with the EYFS.

· Plan and deliver engaging, child-led activities indoors and outdoors.

· Support children’s learning, language development, and curiosity.

· Maintain a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment.

· Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and carers.

· Follow all safeguarding, health, and safety procedures.

Requirements

· Level 3 or above qualification in Early Years or Childcare.

· Experience in an early years or nursery setting.

· Strong knowledge of the EYFS and child development.

· Awareness of paediatric first aid and allergy response procedures.

· Commitment to food allergy and intolerance safety.

· A reflective, caring, and enthusiastic approach to working with children.

Additional Information

Full-time position, Monday to Friday, between 7:30 am – 6:00 pm. Two references and an enhanced DBS check will be required before starting.
