This role would suit an Architect who wants responsibility, variety, and a direct role in shaping projects, clients, and the practice itself.
VOOR is a small but growing practice, so the role will be broad. You will be expected to run projects, identify issues, think clearly, and present solutions rather than simply passing problems upwards. As the business grows, there will be clear opportunities for progression, leadership, and helping build a team around the right person.
Responsibilities
The role will include:
- Preparing feasibility layouts, planning drawings, and technical design packages
- Producing clear construction information and coordinated drawing packs
- Working with clients, consultants, contractors, and Building Control
- Supporting measured surveys, 3D scan information, and as-existing documentation
- Managing project information, risks, actions, and design coordination
- Reviewing existing buildings and identifying practical design solutions
- Supporting compliance with Building Regulations, CDM duties, and project documentation
- Contributing to VOOR’s internal systems, standards, and project delivery methods
Requirements
Essential:
- ARB registration
- Strong AutoCAD skills
- Good knowledge of UK Building Regulations
- Experience preparing planning and technical drawing packages
- Ability to manage your own workload and work to deadlines
- Clear written and verbal communication
- Confidence working directly with clients, consultants, and contractors
Desirable:
- Revit experience
- Experience with industrial, food production, commercial, heritage, or existing-building projects
- Conservation experience
- Knowledge of CDM 2015 and Building Regulations dutyholder roles
- Experience working with point cloud / 3D scan information
- Experience coordinating consultants and Building Control submissions
