Job Summary

We are seeking a friendly and efficient Barista to join our team at Riverview, Durham. The ideal candidate will be passionate about delivering excellent customer service and creating high-quality beverages in a fast-paced environment. This role offers an opportunity to develop barista skills while working in a vibrant café setting. The position is paid and suitable for individuals who enjoy working with people and have a keen eye for detail.

Responsibilities

Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, tea, and specialised drinks, ensuring consistency and quality.
Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene at all times, adhering to health regulations.
Provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers warmly, taking orders accurately, and handling transactions efficiently.
Assist with food preparation tasks such as assembling sandwiches or snacks when required.
Manage multiple orders simultaneously while maintaining organisation and efficiency during busy periods.
Keep the work area clean, organised, and well-stocked throughout the shift.
Handle cash register operations accurately, including basic maths for transactions and change.
Uphold company standards for serving food and beverages responsibly, ensuring customer satisfaction.

Skills

Previous Barista experience is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate.
Knowledge of food safety standards to ensure hygienic preparation and service.
Experience in serving customers with professionalism and friendliness.
Ability to assist with food preparation tasks as needed, maintaining quality standards.
Strong time management skills to handle multiple orders efficiently during peak hours.
