Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced proactive and dedicated Grounds Maintenance Operative to join our team! Someone who has worked in a similar role for min of 2 years. You will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing outdoor spaces, ensuring they are safe, attractive, and well-kept. Your energetic approach will help keep our grounds in top condition, supporting a welcoming environment for visitors, staff, and the community. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your landscaping skills, mechanical knowledge, and passion for horticulture in a dynamic setting.

Responsibilities

Perform landscape maintenance tasks including mowing, pruning, planting, weeding, and turf care to keep outdoor areas vibrant and healthy
Operate power tools such as trimmers, lawnmowers, hedge cutters, and leaf blowers safely and efficiently
Use hand tools for planting, edging, digging, and general grounds upkeep with precision and care.
Conduct routine inspections of grounds and equipment to identify repairs or maintenance needs
Operate heavy machinery like excavators when required for larger landscaping or construction projects
Assist with construction or renovation projects related to outdoor spaces, ensuring safety protocols are followed

Qualifications

Proven experience in landscape maintenance or gardening with a strong understanding of horticulture principles
Mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot and maintain power tools and small machinery
Hands-on experience with hand tools, power tools, and gardening equipment
Familiarity with operating excavators or other construction machinery is a plus
Knowledge of irrigation systems installation and repair techniques
Previous construction experience or involvement in outdoor project work is desirable
Strong attention to detail combined with the ability to work independently or as part of a team
