Full job description

We are looking for a suitable candidate to join our full time team of staff here at the Appleby Inn Hotel. As a family run close knit business we are looking for someone who can work well within a team whilst showing the hardworking qualities and friendly nature expected of all employees. The right candidate will work under our general manager alongside our other duty managers and will be expected to adopt a hands on approach to the job, serving behind the bar and working on the restaurant floor whilst ensuring all standards set by the general manager are being met during the shift. The dealing with telephone enquiries and bookings for both restaurant, bar and hotel will also be a requirement.
Along with the general day to day running of the restaurant we also boast a busy 34 bedroom hotel, guests needs are expected to be catered for along with the smooth running of occupancy availability and dealing with check ins, check outs and bookings for the hotel. Any applicant will need to be aware that they will be joining a long standing team of employees who have been at the Appleby Inn Hotel for a number of years and will be expected to buy into our way of bar and restaurant management.

The Role and responsibilities.

To ensure the smooth running of of the bar and restaurant
To work alongside the service team ensuring team members are working within their roles efficiently
Dealing with customer feedback and ensuring the guests positive experience whilst visiting
The opening and closing of the restaurant/hotel
To liaise with the higher management team for tasks required throughout the working week
Keeping the higher management team informed of any issues or guest feedback that may need addressing
Staff training for new starters to the team
Working on shifts between 6-9 hours within the hours of 11am-11.30pm

Job Type: Permanent

Pay: £13.50-£14.50 per hour
