Full job description

Business Support Officer

Salary: £26,936 FTE (full-time equivalent)

This remote role is for 30 hours per week and is worked on a term-time-only basis, plus an additional 2 weeks each year.

Actual salary: £19,572 per annum.

Role overview: To provide customer focused business support, main duties include financial administration, responding to customers and enquiries, organising training events and supporting marketing and sales activities.

Role responsibilities:

Business Support

· Monitor compliance with GDPR and other data protection laws and company policies

· Monitor and reply to emails as agreed with and on behalf of the company director

· Support diary management of events and bookings

· Respond to general customer enquiries, providing a high level of customer care and service.

Sales and Marketing

· Manage contact details for target marketing to ensure they are up to date and compliant with the Data Protection Act 2018 and GDPR

· Undertake marketing activities in line with agreed marketing plan including social media and electronic mailshots

· Manage the administration and quality assurance of the website, social media sites and support improvements for look, feel and usability

· Undertake activities to increase sales and achieve agreed targets.

Finance

· Create and send customer invoices and update associated systems

· Liaise with customers to ensure prompt and timely payments

· Produce sales and finance reports in line with agreed format and frequency.

Training

· To manage the administration of a booking system, this will include direct communication with customers

· Manage the administration of signing in sheets, course confirmations, course reminders, certificates and thank you emails

· Book training and conference venues and confirm arrangements and requirements

· Produce training and conference materials e.g. arrange printing and organise delegate packs

· Produce summary evaluation reports in line with agreed format and frequency.

Person Specification

Qualifications

· 5 GCSEs or equivalent qualifications including Maths and English at Grade C or above

Experience

· Experience of using Microsoft Office Word and Excel

· Experience of using Microsoft Office Publisher and Power Point

· General office experience, including answering phones, providing a reception service and dealing with a range of administrative tasks at the same time

· Experience of dealing effectively with customers

· Experience of working within an education setting

· Experience with marketing and social media platforms

· Ability to develop good relations with colleagues, customers, suppliers and other contacts

IT Skills

· Fast and accurate keyboard skills

· Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite and IT platforms
