Full job description

FDC Law have a vacancy for a full-time experienced Assistant to support a busy Conveyancer in our Midsomer Norton Office.

The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic and confident individual and will have:

· Excellent secretarial and client skills
· High word processing and audio typing skills
· A good telephone manner and ability to deal with client enquiries effectively and efficiently
· Ability to encourage and work in a team environment
· Good verbal and written communication skills to liaise with staff and key contacts at all levels
· The ability to assess and analyse information quickly
· Self-motivation skills with the ability to handle multiple work strands simultaneously
· Previous experience as a Conveyancing Assistant / Legal Secretary.
Some experience using online portals e.g., Lender Exchange, LMS & Land Registry preferred

Main duties:

· To prepare correspondence and documents through audio-typing and word processing.
· To administer filing which will include daily filing and the opening, closing storage and retrieval of client files in accordance with the detailed procedures contained in the Office Manual
· To prepare mail and enclosures for dispatch.
· To arrange for all copying to be done, in person if the admin assistant is not available to undertake task.
· To make appointments, arrange meetings and to maintain an up-to-date diary for his/her principal.
· To provide support to other secretaries and reception as required.
