Full job description

Job Overview
We are seeking enthusiastic and caring Play Workers to join our team in creating a safe, engaging, and inclusive environment for children and young people. The ideal candidate will be passionate about supporting children's development through play and activities, fostering positive relationships, and ensuring a welcoming atmosphere. This paid role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the wellbeing and enjoyment of young individuals within our community setting.

Duties

Organise and facilitate a variety of play activities suitable for different age groups and abilities
Support children in developing social skills through group play and individual interaction
Ensure the safety of all participants by supervising activities and maintaining a secure environment
Encourage inclusive participation, respecting individual needs and preferences
Assist with setting up equipment and organising resources for activities
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of play areas before, during, and after sessions
Build positive relationships with children, parents, carers, and colleagues to promote a supportive community atmosphere
Follow all health and safety protocols diligently to ensure a safe environment for everyone

Skills

Genuine enthusiasm for working with children and young people
Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse groups
Organisational skills to plan, prepare, and manage various activities efficiently
Patience, empathy, and the ability to respond calmly in challenging situations
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Experience or qualification in childhood development or playwork is desirable but not essential
Flexibility to adapt activities based on individual needs and group dynamics

This role is ideal for individuals who are dedicated to making a positive impact through play, enjoy working in dynamic environments, and are committed to fostering inclusive participation. All roles are paid positions, offering valuable experience within community services.

Pay: From £12.71 per hour
